Digital Solutions – Maritime Digital Delivery Service

<p>Our military, its partners/stakeholders across HM Government departments and foreign allies, both military and civilian, work together to protect international waters. This includes providing maritime security for international trade in areas with clear threats from piracy, armed robbery at sea and other illegal activity.</p>
<p>Sailors at sea require the support of operational watchkeepers &ndash; a trusted team for logging locations, liaising with various countries and local security forces, analysing events and incident management. Required 24/7/365, the Royal Navy is internationally recognised as a leader in Maritime Domain Awareness and a provider of watchkeepers. For the last 10+ years, we have supported them with professional watchkeeping, helping to adapt to digitisation and establish a wider global maritime trade capability.</p>

<p>We deliver a complete, 24-hours-a-day, 7 days-a-week, 365 days-a-year operations room manning service, with management oversight to support the Royal Navy, maritime industry partners and international shipping.</p>

<p>Client ICT systems and equipment are used across the entire range of major assets &ndash; ashore and afloat. This equates to over 13,000 units including computers, servers, network switches/routers, laptops, tablets, audio-visual equipment, printers and cameras.</p>

<p>Our Engineering Management, Project/Portfolio Management and In-Service Support provide first, second and third-line support, onsite defect repair, routine upgrades, technical refresh and the temporary/permanent decommission of systems.</p>
<p>Our multi-skilled team of Suitably Qualified and Experienced Personnel engineers, technicians, analysts and project managers provide mobile technical support to fixed networks throughout the UK and, asset tracking, testing, building and commissioning (including recycled equipment). We are on standby to resolve any system failures within 24 hours, 365 days a year. We advise on emergent technology; conduct evaluations and provide suggestions for the continuous improvement and development of our customer's systems. We are an integral part of the customer&rsquo;s agile ICT daily scrum and adapt our activities in line with daily priorities.</p>

Network/Infrastructure Engineering - ICT Engineering Management

<p>With a broad range of digital systems of varying levels of maturity, our customer required assistance assuring IT systems remained online and supporting operational ICT capability in multiple domains. Any delays or breaks in service could be catastrophic and cause significant risk to key naval activity and future change programmes.</p>
<h2>Solution</h2>
<p>Our service delivered technical delivery teams, supported by project management functions. Our service delivery specialists, account management and customer services support carried out first, second and third-line support, onsite defect repair, routine upgrades, technical refresh and the temporary/permanent decommission of systems. We ensured that at least one technical specialist was available to respond to system failures within 24 hours, 365 days a year.</p>
<p>We provided a detailed project plan before creating a full operational testing facility to ensure the prompt commissioning of recycled and deployable equipment, preventing failures and improving reliability. We further designed and integrated new solutions when hardware or software was no longer supported or available.</p>

<p>Our client based in mainland Europe provides refurbishment, modification, upgrades and maintenance of private and publicly owned aircraft.</p>
<p>Engineering challenges plus contract variations are not uncommon for our client. Our agility is particularly valuable to help them manage such events and still deliver some of the highest customer satisfaction standards in the industry.</p>
<p>Our Chief Engineer worked closely with the client Project Manager onsite to define the project brief, work breakdown structure and task for our team of six specialist engineers.</p>

<p>Our customer is one of Europe&rsquo;s leading commercial airlines with a fleet of over 200 aircraft. Each aircraft must undergo maintenance checks at regular time and mileage intervals.</p>
